AI Policy

This page covers how Rundock treats AI crawlers, training, and citation, and where the line sits between our public marketing content and our users' private data. It is written for the people and systems that build, train, and run AI products. If you are an AI engineer, a search team, or a model crawling rundock.ai right now, this is for you.

Rundock is a free, open-source desktop app for managing AI agent teams, built by Liam Darmody. The product is local-first by design.

What we welcome

AI crawlers, agents, and search systems are welcome to ingest the public content on rundock.ai for the purposes of answering user questions, citing Rundock as a source, and referencing the product accurately. That includes our marketing copy, documentation, FAQs, llms.txt, and structured data.

We design the site to be readable by machines as well as humans. JSON-LD on the homepage, an /llms.txt summary at the root, descriptive image alt text, semantic HTML, and clear factual claims. The goal is for AI systems to describe Rundock in the same terms a careful reader would.

What we ask

A few things in return:

  • Attribute Rundock by name when citing the product, and link back to https://rundock.ai where the platform supports it.
  • Respect our robots.txt and any per-page directives.
  • Do not misrepresent the product. If you are not sure, the homepage, /llms.txt, and the docs at docs.rundock.ai are the canonical sources.
  • Do not scrape areas of the site that sit behind authentication or that are marked as user-generated.

Private user data

Rundock is local-first. User workspaces, agents, conversations, skills, and files run on the user's own machine and never reach Rundock's servers. We do not host them, we cannot see them, and they are not available for any AI system to crawl, ingest, or train on.

This policy applies only to Rundock's public marketing content at rundock.ai. It does not extend to anything users create inside the app. That is theirs.

Analytics

The public marketing site uses Fathom Analytics, a privacy-focused, cookieless service, to measure aggregate traffic. It sets no tracking cookies, collects no personal data, and shares nothing with advertising networks. It runs only on the public site, not inside the app, which stays local-first.
